Priceless moments

My Dad and Trudy came in to town for Kamryn's blessing a couple of weeks ago. They stayed with us for the weekend. It was so nice because when they stay, we just have time to hang out and talk and play. My dad sat in the rocking chair in our family room for an hour talking with Rylee and Morgan. Now, if you know my dad, you know that he has magic tricks, faces and stories that completely engage any child around...and adults too! I remember him always telling us the story of Herman, the mouse he keeps in his pocket. He would pull him out and we would pet him and we thought it was fabulous. So, for this hour, they talked about Herman and how he lived in the deepest, darkest part of the forest and that is why he is allergic to light, so he has to stay tucked away in my dad's pocket or hand. Rylee and Morgan loved the story and stayed right by him, listening intently. After his story, Rylee pulled out Harry...her mouse....and Morgan pulled out Diamond...her mouse. They continued to tell grandpa their stories and he listened to them just as intently as they listened to him. He pet their mice and then they all put them to bed. I just observed this from a distance and thought how priceless these moments are. I was so happy they stayed with us...and so happy for this moment. It made the whole weekend worth it. Last night, we went on a walk as a family. It was dark on the way home and we walked on this path with a bunch of big trees. Rylee and Morgan both pulled out Harry and Diamond and I pet them in the dark.
